With many thoughts running through his head, he packed up his few belongings and headed to his parents, who owned the neighborhood general store in a small town.
He started his car and drove off while Simon and Garfunkel’s angelic singing accompanying his thoughts along the road.
The pleasant breeze that came in through window with the smell of the pine trees, expanded his heart.
The changing landscape brought a sense of peace which he had not known for a long time in the demanding medical studies. John came from a working-class family, and he knew that his parents would be proud of their son for succeeding in his medical studies.
At the end of a two-and-a-half-hour drive, which involved many thoughts and reflections, John arrived at the general store which was crowded with shoppers. He began searching for his father in the mix of people who crowded the place. When he found him, he noticed that his father was busy talking to a hot-tempered customer.
“Daddy” John whispered in his father’s ear. “Dad, please turn your attention to hear me.” The father looked up with his tired eyes and saw his son that he loves so much. At once, the frown was replaced by a bright smile.
“Dad” said John “I was chosen out of many medical graduates for a meeting at a start-up company that manufactures advanced medical devices. I wanted your blessing for this, Dad. Please bless me before I go to the interview, for only a few people are accepted for this position.”
The father, who no longer was hearing the client’s words, put his hand over his son’s head and said: “I wish you all the best in the world, health and happiness”
Tears of joy flooded John’s eyes “Thank you, thank you very much, Dad.”
The years went by. John was hired by one of the world’s leading start-up companies that develops life-saving medical equipment using innovative and groundbreaking technology. He rose through the ranks and reached the top of the developers in his department. His employers were pleased with his enormous abilities. He led the company to glorious achievements and made a name for himself as a developer with unique ideas.
John married a sensitive and loving woman who admired his abilities and his humility. The couple had three children and they made a wonderful home.
I was going through a busy time at the school where I teach. The school principle urged me in a text message: “Ayla, pedagogical meetings… Don’t forget, I want an orderly report on all of my students. You need to write about their successes as well as their difficulties. This is an opportunity to inspire their work and help them academically towards the end of the year…”
I came home from a busy day at the school, made myself a strong black coffee to open my eyes and refresh my thoughts, took my laptop in my hands, went up to my room and asked my children to please keep quiet. I connected headphones to my laptop and played Simon and Garfunkel’s angelic songs. Their divine poetry helps me concentrate on writing the many pedagogical reports.
The phone showed a new text message:
“Hello Ayla, my name is John, I have colitis. I read in one of your posts that you, too, have contracted this disease and are now cured of it. I would love to schedule a meeting with you to learn more about how you achieved this.”
I looked at his photo, he was unfamiliar to me. At the end of writing the reports, I called him. He sounded very pleasant, articulate and intelligent. We made an appointment to meet at my clinic.
When John arrived, he sat down and said “I read that you have a master’s degree in biology, so I can describe the stage of my disease to you in medical terms. You will probably recognize the exact diagnosis of my disease.”
John, a fascinating conversationalist, spoke about his work at the start-up company. I learned from him about the work conditions that most people can only dream of: A salary up to three times the salary of a doctor in the hospital. A luxurious office. A work environment with a gym, a room for practicing yoga and meditation, a room with massage armchairs, a music room and a variety of other luxurious rooms of many kinds.
I also understood that John was under a lot of pressure. He was constantly being measured for what he is doing. The material conditions at his work were among the best imaginable, but he was working under conditions of a “Big Brother”, in which he was constantly being watched, which led to the slow collapse of his body and mind, until he began to lose weight and bleed while in the bathroom.
As a doctor, he realized that he was experiencing an autoimmune disease.
When he was went to check what exactly he is dealing with, he understood that the worst had befallen him, he had colitis, of high severity. He went through many treatment by the best doctors, but they were unable to eradicate the disease.
John was not interested in biological treatment, and decided to treat the disease alone after feeling desperation from the medical world.
He researched the causes of the disease and realized that it was fed by an emotional basis. John asked me to start treatments. He asked to start with five meetings to see how his body would react to my treatments, which combine personal life-coaching, dietary change, going into the layers of emotion, and practicing guided imagery and deep meditation which cleanses every single cell in the body.
After five treatments, John felt a great improvement. He asked to continue the treatments that greatly benefited him.
By the tenth treatment, the colitis symptoms had disappeared. He felt much more comfortable and confident moving freely, without needing to be near a bathroom at all times.
Last night we finished our 15th treatment when I equipped John with mental tools and techniques for healing the body and the mind. John learned about food that will soothe his intestines, as well as how to engage in rehabilitation meditation that will allow him to dive deep into the subconscious and from there, to let go of the fear, the emotional stress, frustration, and distress that he was experiencing for many years.
As a life-coach, I was accompanying John in creating his desired reality. His body responded to the treatments and I was happy to have helped a man who had dedicated his entire life to helping others, fulfill his humble request to return to good and strong health.
When John was about to leave my clinic after our last session, he turned to me and said: “Ayla, you are the best mentor and healing presence I’ve ever had. Who would have thought that by reading a short post about your battle with the disease, my life would change beyond recognition. How do you do it? You have an unforgettable human touch. Thank you. Thank you for bringing joy back into my life…”
I thanked him deeply, as we were saying goodbye.
I feel so grateful for the opportunity to save lives.
John’s success was another sign that I needed to bring myself to help as many people who would benefit from my abilities in healing, coaching, and leading meditation and guided imagery.
I enrolled in couples counseling, couples mediation studies, tarot card reading studies for counseling and guidance purposes and I decided to reduce my work in the school to part time, so I could make receive patients/trainees who need coaching, healing and empowerment within a more convenient time frame.
I am happy to assist anyone who needs guidance, counseling, healing and personal life-coaching in any field.
With love,
